Summary
The NEWSpiracy project aims to develop critical thinking skills among university teachers and students, focusing on the essential need to critically assess the information they encounter, particularly in the context of fake news. As key influencers in society’s future, educators and learners must be equipped to navigate and challenge misinformation. This project tackles the issue of fake news by offering an online training platform and interactive environments that encourage reflection and analysis. The project is structured into four key work packages: Project Management, NEWSpiracy In-Service Training, Fake News Detector Interactive Environment, and Dissemination and Outreach Activities. Through these work packages, the project creates educational resources such as a Tutor Handbook, an interactive LMS-based training platform, and an interactive news-commenting environment. Additional dissemination efforts include social media outreach, newsletters, and multiplier events in partner countries, ensuring broad impact across Europe.
